There is only one advantage of the daylight saving time: I have the chance to see the sunrise twice in spring and fall. Just as the sun rises too early for me to see it on my way to work, we put our clock one hour forward. Same in fall, just as the mornings are too dark, we put hour clock one hour back.

It is interesting how the position of the sun changes. The “greener” panorama was shot in september, 2008. The other one as the two images above, too a few weeks ago. Same same but different, as the people in Thailand are used to say. Same time, same place, different season.

I used different focal lengths also, as you can see. The upper one is made with the 14mm wide angle lens.

More of my way to work in my gallery.

Recently I forgot my SD card reader and I tried to get the photos out of my D90… I was surprised. USB Mass Storage mode did not work! This is impossible, I thought. I read the manual, I searched for more information how to enable Mass Storage mode… No way. I found this link at dpreview.com.

No catastrophe as I am used to use card readers… But anyway: Why, Nikon, why???

About three weeks ago we did an excursion to the Isteiner Schwellen. There is a short article on Wikipedia in german, too. This is a nice place of rapids at the old arm of the Rhine near Basel and Freiburg im Breisgau. As this is a natural protection area there are a lot of birds there.

The heron was feed with meat by people who come there every day. Unfortunately, a lot of the photos I shot of the heron are not focused well or do have motion blur. The one published here is the only one more or less sharp.

Mainly I made some wide angle shots here — disregarding the photographs of the birds. Sometimes using my hat as “tripod”.

I have some more photos of those days in Freiburg in my Gallery.

I was searching for a good note taking tool for Windows since last year. I am using Tomboy under Linux and I love it. There are a few wishes I would liked to be integrated but anyway, it is the best I know.

I did not found anything similar for Windows. Until I lately discovered that there is a Windows version of Tomboy, too!

Great. I followed the instructions of installation and had no problems.

We wanted to let everyone know that to help improve your PC’s performance and to prepare for the coming upgrade to Office 2007, Information Services is planning to install Windows Search…

No, no kidding. If it wouldn’t be so sad, it would be very funny.
